There are many attractive historical places in this world. In
the Indian subcontinent we can find many beautiful places to visit with our
near and dear. The Taj Mahal is one of the most attractive monuments of the
world. It is a beautiful white marble monument at Agra in India. It is treated
to be one of the greatest architectural masterwork in the world. The UNESCO
announced it as the New Seven Wonders of the World. Every year, millions of
people from different country visit the Taj Mahal. Most of the visitors are
from the neighboring country of India. Actually the growing middle class people
visit the Taj Mahal.
The Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan (r. 1628 - 1658) built the Taj Mahal in
honor of his Persian beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Mumtaz Mahal died in 1632 while
bearing their 14th child. Shah Jahan never really forget his beloved. He did
his level best to design and build the most beautiful monument ever known on
the southern banks of the Jamuna River.
More than 20,000 artisans worked hard to build it. It took at
least a decade to build the Taj Mahal complex. The white marble stone is inlaid
with floral details carved from precious gems.
In places, the stone is carved into exquisite screens
called pierce work so that visitors can see into the next chamber. All of the
floors are inlaid with patterned stone, and incised painting in abstract
designs drapes the walls. The artisans who did this marvelous work were
supervised by an entire committee of architects, headed by Ustad Ahmad Lahauri.
The cost in modern values was about 53 billion rupees ($827 million US).
Construction of the mausoleum was completed around 1648.
Now it is one of the most important sources of income of Indian Economy. Many
business sectors are established there, such as residence business(Hostel), Hotel,
Motel, Transport Agency and many more.
Consequently, Indian unemployment problem is reducing. Young
people are getting touch with many jobs and earning money to lead their
families
